Many women in the area who have enjoyed attending fashion showings from Blumes Fashions from Melbourne over the years will be sorry to learn that it has become another victim of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The owner, Danny Blume, sadly closed the 44 year-old enterprise on August 31.
Many organisations in the area have hosted Blumes fashion showings as fundraisers for many years, and got to know the girls who unpacked and re-packed all their clothes, scarves and jewellery from the back of a small van, to show to groups of ladies gathering to replenish their wardrobes each year at low prices.
The Jerilderie Hospital Auxiliary was one organisation which benefited from twice-yearly Blumes visits, until waning interest locally brought visits to a stop some years ago.
