Forty years on, members and guests celebrated the milestone at a dinner held on Sunday, December 1, at Wunghnu Café, with over 30 attendees at the celebration.
A wonderful meal was served by the café, enjoyed by all.
Joining Tallygaroopna’s special day were past and present members and partners, with special guests Guiding Lion Howard and Lois Lowe, from Numurkah.
Glenda McLeod and Bruce McLeod, from Tatura Lions, and charter member Bill and Nancy Conley were also in attendance.
The Tallygaroopna Lions Club’s history is filled with memorable achievements.
In the 1990s, the club helped a farmer restore his garden after it was submerged for about seven weeks due to flooding.
Another highlight was hosting a Melbourne Cup Day function at Medland Estate in Bunbartha, where the club held a fashion parade and luncheon for 200 guests.
The club is also proud to have three life members who continue to serve.
