This year, the scholarship is worth $12,000 for students in the Coleambally/Darlington Point area who would like to further their education.
John - who is 103 and aims to reach 105 - currently lives on his own in Leeton, but has his daughter close by.
Both still have a close affiliation with Coly.

The Coleambally Preschool & Early Learning Centre is delighted to announce that Samantha Edwards is stepping into the newly created role of assistant director.
Samantha brings with her a wealth of experience in early childhood education, holding her diploma and having worked in larger childcare centres where she gained extensive knowledge of compliance and best practices.
Over the past six months, she has made a lasting impression with her dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for the children, families, and staff in our community.
This new role of assistant director is an exciting step forward for the centre.

The centre also welcomes a new director in Marie Vosloo.
Marie has been an invaluable part of the team for six months.
With her diploma in early childhood education and extensive experience working in larger childcare centres, Marie brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise.
Her understanding of compliance and her ability to create a nurturing, supportive environment make her the perfect fit to guide our preschool and daycare into the future.
Marie’s passion for early childhood education shines through in everything she does, from fostering meaningful relationships with families to ensuring the highest quality care for every child.
She is not only a dedicated educator but also a fantastic point of contact for any questions or concerns you may have.
Whether it’s about your child’s learning journey or the day-to-day running of the centre, Marie is here to listen and support you every step of the way.

The Coleambally SES unit is recruiting for storm and water operators.
If this interests you, drop in and have a chat about becoming a member of the NSW SES.
The unit meets Tuesday nights between 6pm and 9pm, rotating between the Coly and Darlington Point sheds.
The last meeting of the year at Coly is December 3. Meetings at Darlington Point are November 26 and December 10.
