Four young Tocumwal cricket legends had the experience of a lifetime last week whilst playing in the under-14s Murray Valley Cricket Association team.

Tocumwal’s Lucas Baron, Archie Chellew, Chase Dickens and James White were part of the boys team that were crowned winners of the under-14s grand final, ending a 24 year drought for this side.
The team held off GMC in a close game, winning by nine runs.
They defended their total of 143.
A further congratulations to Archie Chellew, who was named Player of the Match in this u14s final with 37 runs and one catch.
Coach Keith ‘Keto’ Baron was full of praise for the side.
“This incredible group of talented young men, fuelled by passion and grit, brought glory back to Murray Valley,” he said.
“They are all great mates and every one of the boys should be very proud of themselves.
“It was a great week of cricket.”
The team send a huge thank you to their Keto and his assistants, Matty, Kenny and Trav.

It is just two weeks to go until the Tocumwal Fishing Classic.
The prize categories are Biggest Murray Cod (1 x adult $300 cash and prizes and 1 x junior winner $150 cash and prizes), Biggest Yellow Belly (1x adult $300 cash and prizes and 1 x junior winner $150 cash and prizes), Biggest Carp (1 winner), Mystery Length (1 winner), Champion Angler (cumulative length of all native fish caught) and Lucky Tag Draw (1 x winner).
The registration event will be held at Tattersalls Hotel Tocumwal on Friday, January 24 from 4pm.
If you havn’t registered prior to the event, you can do so in person on the morning of the competition from 5am at the old boat ramp.
Winners and prize presentations, plus raffles will be held from 5pm at the Tattersalls Hotel with the raffles drawn at 6.30pm.
There will also be live music with Mini & the Minors from 7pm.

The Annual Duck Race is on again this year.
Ducks will be on sale for $10 each from the Tocumwal Fishing Classic registration event on January 24.
They will also be available on the morning of the competition until 11am, unless sold out prior.
The ducks will race between 12pm and 12.30pm, between the two boat ramps in town.
First prize is a whopping $1000, with second and third place ducks scoring $500 and $250 respectively.

TocArts will be back for 2025, from Wednesday, January 22, and are gearing up for another great year of art sessions.
The group meets each Wednesday from 10.30am until 12.30pm at the Tocumwal Library.
The cost of $20 if you would like to join in.
