They are also keen to remind the community that the show is free for all under-18s.
Benalla Agricultural and Pastoral Society secretary Wendy Beer said the excitement was building as the show drew nearer.
“For all crafts and cakes, those entries closed on Friday, October 11. For flowers, farm and home produce, they close on Wednesday, October 16,” Ms Beer said.
“And it is the entry forms we need submitted by those dates, we arrange for the exhibitors to be delivered on a specific day.”
On top of all the arts, crafts, cakes, livestock, farm and home produce exhibits, there will be all the traditional elements of a regional spring show.
Ms Beer said she was excited to see the fairground rides and attractions, which were organised by the Victorian Showmen’s Guild.
“All the side shows start at around 10am on Friday, October 18,” she said.
“The livestock, including the sheep and cattle, tend to be on the Saturday.
“On Friday we have the big dog show. This will be the 70th year we have run the Championship Dogs.
“On Saturday morning we also have the pet parade, and the mobile animal farm will be open both days in the animal nursery.”
Also in the animal nursery Benalla’s Kylie Mort will be offering free face painting for children on both days.
“And of course, we have our Dinkum Dinosaurs Show, which will be lots of fun,” Ms Beer said.
“And even when the show is not running, kids can have their photo taken with the static dinosaur display.”
There will also be a fossil museum, with real fossils on display.
Entry forms for exhibits can also be sourced from the showgrounds office.
The Benalla Spring Show is on Friday, October 18, from 9am to 5pm, and Saturday, October 19, from 9am to 4.30pm.
Entry for adults is $20, and seniors with a concession card is $10, with under-18s free.
