Christmas lights illuminate Stanhope
The Stanhope Development Committee recently unveiled the Christmas window display at Station Park on Brudenell St.
Brett Ould and Rick Lansdown from Robgill once again took creative liberties in producing a fantastic display filled with festive decorations, lights and figurines.
A festive crowd with some drinks and nibbles joined the ribbon cutting ceremony, officiated by Des Crichton.
The committee invites families out on their search for Christmas lights to come enjoy the colourful display and take photos in Santa’s sleigh nearby.
Kyabram Christmas Carols
On Thursday, December 19, from 5pm, Memorial Gardens on Allan St will transform into a winter wonderland for the annual Kyabram Christmas Carols.
Uniting the three churches across town, the carols are set to kick off at 7.45pm, with performances from Combined Churches House Band, the Rushworth and District Concert Band and local primary school students.
Aside from the music, activities such as camel rides (for $5) and games will be on offer for kids, while a free barbecue and food trucks will be available to keep tummies filled.
A fireworks show will close out the night.
Kyabram Town Hall's Santa's Cave opens for another year.

Santa has arrived in Kyabram
Santa’s Cave has officially opened at the Kyabram Town Hall, and the big man himself is inviting all the kiddies and their families to come and visit him to say hello.
The installation at the town hall has been a Christmas tradition since it opened in 2015 and has been delighting children who pass through the cave ever since.
Families enter through a winding tunnel, lit up with fairy lights and lined with toys and miniatures for children to fawn over, and waiting at the end of the tunnel is one Santa Claus, ready to hear Christmas wishes.
The cave will be open every day until Sunday, December 22, from 11am to 5pm with tickets for $5 a person or $15 a family.
Buy a Christmas cake, make a difference
The Kyabram Lions are selling their iconic Christmas cakes this year to fundraise to make the Kyabram community sweeter – even sweeter than the cake itself.
For just $16 a pop, proceeds from the Lions Christmas cakes goes back to the Kyabram Lions to put towards disaster relief, childhood cancer research and local schools and organisations.
So, while you’re sitting around the table eating delicious cake on Christmas Day, rest easy knowing the purchase of the treat is going towards making the world a better place.
The Christmas cakes and puddings are available to buy from the following Kyabram outlets: Fitzgerald Farm Fresh Meats, Goulburn Murray Credit Union, Bendigo Bank and Albion Fruit and Vegetables.
Kyabram Scouts Christmas wish list
The 1st Kyabram Scouts will be assisting to host a community Christmas lunch on Monday, December 23, but before then, they need your help.
The scouts will be helping to feed more than 70 mouths and are asking the community to donate food, cooking utensils and Christmas-themed items to make this lunch unlike any other.
