We are hearing today that the number of people confessing to be cultural Christians is on the rise.
These people believe that a society built on Christian principles is preferable to any other founding principals.
Interestingly, Richard Dawkins, a renowned atheist, is now professing openly to being a cultural Christian.
He confesses that countries turning away from Christian principals and turning to other ideologies are rapidly on the cultural decline.
He does not confess to have faith in Jesus, but prefers the fruit of the Christian faith.
There are many other people in our world coming out as cultural Christians, including Elon Musk, one of the richest and most successful people in the world.
These people know in their hearts that Christian principles can work for living.
Today’s scripture clearly tells us that only a good tree can produce good fruit.
If a tree's fruit is healthy then so must its branches, its trunk and its roots be healthy.
So if the Christian faith produces good, sound fruit then the root of the tree - who is Jesus - must be good.
Let’s pray this week that people who believe that our country is better based upon Judaeo Christian principals come to the realisation that the founder, Jesus Christ, is a good God.
Just as we need His guiding principles, we also need Him.
