Corowa’s Regional Business Chamber Executive Officer John Crothers said the free community event is all about celebrating community spirit.
“The event is bringing together talented local performers, and making memories with friends and family,” John said.
The performances this year are overseen by Geoff Wright from the Rivereens, promising a night of joyous entertainment.
Who to look forward to
•Corowa Public Primary School - Christmas Carols
Local children will fill the park with Christmas magic through a beautiful collection of carols that remind us all of the joy and warmth of the holiday season.
• Glorious Kids Connection
A local community group of children, teens, and youths reaching out to enhance community connectedness by promoting cultural dances and songs that inspire love, joy, and well-being.
• Sing Australia
Sing Australia is about bringing everyone to sing some of the most glorious songs ever composed.
Founded in 1985, Sing Australia promotes the inherent value of singing for the betterment of the human spirit, good health, and social well-being.
The group’s goal is to create happy connections through music.
• The Rivereens
This multi-talented group of local musicians came together during lockdown, providing a unique musical experience that’s all about fun.
Known for their amazing vocal harmonies and spectacular musicianship, The Rivereens perform everything from original music to classics across multiple genres.
• Filipino Folk Dance Group
Bringing cultural diversity to the stage, this group will perform traditional Filipino folk dances, adding vibrant movement and a glimpse of Filipino culture to our celebration.
“And our evening wouldn’t be complete without our fabulous MC Steve Bowen, who has a knack for engaging audiences and creating an atmosphere full of laughter and fun,” John said.
“Steve’s incredible personality and engaging style will keep the energy up throughout the night, making sure everyone is having a great time.
“There will also be an array of amazing food offerings at the Cultural Christmas Celebration.
“This year, we are proud to bring together three talented chefs and incredible community involvement to provide an unforgettable culinary experience that reflects the diversity and flavour of our town,” John added
Meet the chefs behind the magic
• Chef Shailesh (Sai) Naidu - Flavours of the Pacific
Chef Shailesh Naidu comes with a wealth of experience as the first Fijian Executive Chef at the prestigious Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort.
Chef Shailesh is dedicated to utilising local ingredients, supporting local farmers, and celebrating the authentic tastes of the Pacific.
At the Cultural Christmas Celebration, he will be serving his renowned Seared Fish in Coconut Sauce—an incredible dish made with spinach, tomatoes, coriander, and a hint of Fijian chillies.

• Chefs Liam Whyte and Victoria Pearce - From the Community to the Table
From his role as the new manager at The Food Bowl, Chef Liam Whyte is dedicated to supporting the community by providing delicious meals while working alongside Chef Victoria, local staff and volunteers.
Chef Liam has extensive culinary experience, and his contributions to the Cultural Christmas Celebration will include his delicious Smoked & Cured Pork Belly—glazed in chilli caramel and served on a fragrant Vietnamese rice noodle salad, topped with fried shallots and salted peanuts.
A dish that brings together different flavours in perfect harmony.
•Chef Dulan Dias - Sri Lankan Delights
Chef Dulan Dias, well-known as the head chef at the Corowa RSL Club, is beloved by the community for his authentic Sri Lankan curries and tasty meal options.
Dulan has been instrumental in delivering meals throughout the challenging times of the pandemic, consistently demonstrating his commitment to the community.
For the Cultural Christmas Celebration, Dulan will present his famous Sri Lankan Goat Curry—a tender, slow-cooked dish full of fragrant spices, served with steamed rice and traditional condiments.

In addition to our talented chefs, we also have incredible offerings from our local community groups:
•Rotary Club will be serving their amazing BBQ with sausages and burgers.
•APEX will be offering gourmet hotdogs that are sure to delight.
•Lions Club will be preparing delicious donuts for all to enjoy. Each of these talented chefs brings their unique culinary background to the event, working with local ingredients and volunteers to create dishes that reflect the spirit of Corowa.
