There is a new face behind the bar at The Colony Inn.
Alan Addison is originally from Edinburgh, and is in Jerilderie for about three months. He made his way here from Sydney recently.
This is his second trip to Australia, so he must like the place.
Alan is a barber by profession.

The free bulky waste and green waste collection for Jerilderie residents will be on October 17.
This is a wonderful opportunity for people to get into the back shed or the spare room and move on a lot of stuff that has been sitting, gathering dust and taking up space.
The limit is two cubic metres per household, for both bulky and green waste.
It must be light enough for two people to handle.
Bulky waste and green waste should be kept separate.
Anyone with questions can contact the local council office.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Elsie Black who died on Wednesday September 21, at the age of 94.

In last week’s column, mention was made of the launch of Ross Well’s book It’s Not All About Sheep at the Willandra Ram sales, which are being held today.
A gremlin must have decided to fiddle with the original report, which said that “all proceeds from the sale of the book are to go to Cystic Fibrosis Community Care”.
However, the report in the Just Jerilderie column of the SRN Sept 21 merely said “all proceeds from the sale are to go to cystic fibrosis….”
One could be forgiven for thinking that the proceeds from the ram sale might be going to Cystic Fibrosis Community Care.
That would be exceedingly generous, but highly unlikely, and incorrect.
The book launch is at 11am today at Willandra, and people are invited to attend.

St Joseph’s Catholic Parish and School communities were saddened to learn of the death of former school principal Alan Wedesweiler, on Wednesday, September 21.
Alan and his wife Angela - and their children Lucy, Maddy, Gabriel and Claudia - became part of parish, school and town life very quickly when they came to Jerilderie back in the early 2000s.
From Jerilderie they moved to Griffith, then Katoomba.
Alan then had a career change and was working for Catholic Missions at the time of his death.
Sympathy is extended to Angela and the children, and their extensive family.
