Fr Paul was ordained in Wagga Wagga before spending time in Albury and Griffith and then coming to Finley and Tocumwal parishes.
A large number of Vietnamese, Fr Paul’s home country, added to the local congregation and it was unique to hear some of the sermon in Father’s own language.
At the end of Mass, a hymn was sung so beautifully by the visitors in their own tongue.
Many had travelled long distances including Albury, Wodonga, Bendigo, Swan Hill, Melbourne, Griffith, Shepparton, Cobram, Deniliquin and Numurkah, to name a few.
There was even a family originally from Kenya, with John Githinji’s wife and children having just joined him in Australia.
The service of celebration was followed by lunch in the Parish Hall.
