Dekota, Charli Lester and Bel Carroll all earned the prestigious Silver Endeavour badge - a testament to their commitment and perseverance.
Dekota and Bel went above and beyond, also achieving the Baden-Powell Award.
This award is the pinnacle of Guide achievements.
Corowa Guides leaders say Dekota’s story is particularly remarkable, as she has been commuting from Finley for the past three years to continue her Guiding journey after starting with the Lone Guides.
Dekota received her Baden-Powell Award in a meaningful ceremony at the former Finley Guide Hall, the same venue where both her mother and aunt earned their BP Awards.
Charli and Bel were honoured with their awards at the Corowa Guide Hall.
Earning these accolades required the girls to complete various challenges spanning promise and law, outdoor skills, service, guiding traditions, world Guiding, and patrol systems.
These activities have helped them grow in confidence and leadership while emphasising the importance of community service.
They have each embraced leadership roles, assisting the younger Guides, and have honed outdoor skills at camps and forged lifelong friendships at the Kani Karrung Jamboree in Ballarat.
They have contributed to their communities through service projects such as barbecue fundraisers, bull sales, Lions Club dinners, and recycling initiatives.
Their journey exemplifies the values of the Australian Guide Program (AGP), which emphasises leadership, personal development, and the pursuit of one’s best self.
Girl Guides is open to girls aged seven and up.
