After 2020, which saw the event cancelled because of COVID-19, it will be so lovely to get together as a community at the Biggest Morning Tea annual fundraiser.
Next Thursday, May 27 is the traditional date for the Biggest Morning Tea, and the event will be held that day in the Memorial Hall in Deniliquin St.
From 10am to 1pm Tocumwal Op Shop volunteers will be presenting and serving an array of morning tea in a lovely high tea style setting.
In its fourth year, the plant table has become a regular feature of the Biggest Morning Tea.
Even in 2020 with COVID-19 lockdown, visitors one by one bought plants that had been readied for the event.
In 2021, again through the generous donation of second-hand pots, volunteers have organised this unique event addition.
This year gardening gloves, hats and other garden novelties are also included.
Come along, bring friends, relatives, neighbours, visitors and make it a group outing.
Everyone is welcome. Hope to see you there!● ● ● It is the end of an era with Mick and Jo Haynes selling their third generation and well renowned business, Haynes Butchery.
Welcome to the new owners Glenn and Ange Randall, who have relocated from Echuca with their two children.
I am sure the Randalls will be greeted warmly by the Tocumwal community and well supported.
All the best to Mick, Jo and their family.
Thank you for proving such a great service to Tocumwal for so many years.● ● ●
If you have been past our Post Office in the past week you may have noticed some work going on.
Ian and Liz Lang had arranged for the timber on the outside of the building to be repainted.
The building is heritage listed, however since the timber was being repainted in the same colour, Ian and Liz were able to organise it themselves.
It has been 20 years since this area was last painted.

You will also notice a bit of action at the preschool.
Community members Lucy Brown, Charlie Baldwin and Paul Mangion have been busy donating their time alongside our preschool educators to revamp the area.
The plan is to create a blank canvas which will become an interactive community garden, with an interchangeable theme based on upcoming events and seasons.
Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas and Easter will feature as a new fun place for the preschoolers and community to enjoy.
Community input into the project, as well as donations of time and items to fill the garden, are welcome.
