The 105th annual Finley Show will have fun seekers coming to the region from all over the district this Sunday.
It’s not only a great opportunity to officially welcome spring, the show’s Father’s Day date makes it a great family outing.
Finley Show Society president Matt Mueller said there are other big events to contend with this weekend, specifically in sporting circles but the committee is still expecting strong attendance for the show.
“We know we have footy finals to contend with, with Finley, Berrigan and Jerilderie teams all playing this weekend, but that’s nothing new,” he said.
“Our gates open at 6am, so we hope some of those sporting families find a window to come and support us.
“Having our event on Father’s Day gives you an opportunity to celebrate dad and come and enjoy a day out with all the family.
“And we’ll award a Father of the Day award during the show.
“Our show brings a lot of like-minded people together - rural people, community people - and there is something for everyone.
“We’re hoping for a nice, sunny spring day.”
There’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained throughout the day, with Stewart Bryant Whipcracking, music from Jade Camden, Skillzone, face painting, animal nursery, utility dog trials, local stalls, machinery and vehicle displays, and sideshow alley.
Junior Showgoer judging will be from 10.30am, with free cupcake decorating by Finley Bakery afterwards at noon.
And you won’t want to miss the 2023 Wynne Hawkins Memorial ‘Champion of Champions’ at 2pm, followed by the official opening and grand parade at 2.30pm.
Saturday afternoon also sees the judging of the Junior Handler and Junior Judging from noon, and a Dairy Youth Clinic from 2pm.
With only four sleeps until the show, it is time to finalise your entries.
