Psalm 91 is a powerful declaration of the protection that God offers to his children.
This is a psalm that every believer needs to commit to memory and recite until it comes alive in their hearts.
God’s protection is activated by our faith in his promises.
The psalm tells us we must first dwell in the secret place of the most high, which means to draw close to God by spending time with him in prayer and reading His word.
Then it says, “I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust’.”
To say means to speak it to the Lord. God’s word is living and active, and when we speak it forth, it delivers what it says.
The word when spoken forth activates our shield to protect us from all the enemies attacks, whether it’s a deadly plague or some other disaster.
As children of God, we can shelter under his wings of protection which act like a shield.
I have placed a copy of this psalm at the entrance of my home to remind us of God’s protection plan. Before we step in or out the door, we read it out loud.
When we believe that God is our protector, this activates God to perform what the word says.
God Himself is the best protection against the troubles this world offers. Put your protection plan in place today.
