What a great day it was yesterday (Sunday), at the time of writing.
The unveiling of a bronze statue of Ned Kelly chatting to a young John Monash.
Kelly paid him one shilling to care for his horse whilst he, Kelly, had other business to attend.
I’ve become accustomed to a Jerilderie staged event. It was a whole community celebration.
Speakers were well qualified, acquainted and informed us, the audience, well.
I enjoyed myself and acknowledge Jerilderie as a cohesive and welcoming community.
The old car rallies are also good events.
In addition to Kelly and Monash, Fred Fox, the Queen’s milliner was born there.
Likewise for Ms Ham, the author who most of us know as writer of a humorous movie The Dressmaker.
Also the home of the late Michael Hastings, who is the fellow whose birthright entitled him to the UK throne.
You do well Jerilderie.
Yours etc.
