The new build saw the replacement of the facilities that had stood for more than 50 years.
Locals enjoyed the replacement of the 25m pool and toddlers’ pool, as well as a new amenities block, lighting and shade sails on the official re-open day.
Murrumbidgee Council Mayor Ruth McRae said it was exciting the new facility is finished in time for summer.
Cr McRae said council started upgrades of the complex over winter and is happy with its immaculate finish.
‘‘We are thrilled with the whole facility and believe this is a great outcome for the Jerilderie community and the wider region,’’ Cr McRae said.
A new wader pool has also been installed, with new water features included.
Funding for the upgrade was provided through the Stronger Country Communities and Stronger Communities programs.
The upgrade also includes a new amenities block and filtration shed, the back of which faces Jerilderie St, and will be painted with a mural, as part of the Town Revitalisation Project, as well as new
barbecue facilities, funded through the Drought Communities Programme.
The existing shade structures have been reused as they were in good condition.
Cr McRae is also pleased to welcome back Paige Nash to manage the pool this season.
‘‘Paige has been consulting with the community to see what people would like at the pool this year and has had some great feedback,’’ she said.
The pool is open Tuesday to Sunday from 6am to 10am and 1pm to 7pm.
When visiting the pool please follow COVID-Safe protocols that are in place, including sanitising hands on arrival and signing in.
