During the school holidays from October 3 to 5, Jasmine Burke and Sarah Bauer had the fantastic opportunity to attend the UBS Young Women’s Leadership Academy hosted by the investment banking company in their Sydney office.
The program aims to introduce Year 11 girls to contemporary women leaders, demonstrate the possibilities and satisfaction of a career in finance and promote leadership in aspiring young women.
After being encouraged to apply by their Economics teacher, Mr Maslen, the girls were thrilled to be involved in the event.
Over the three days, Jasmine and Sarah learnt about investment banking at UBS, including a tour of the largest trading floor in the Southern Hemisphere, presenting and communicating confidently, and other professional skills and opportunities.
In addition to this, they were able to network with a range of like-minded girls and numerous leaders in the finance sector.
Both girls say they had a very exciting and valuable few days learning about the finance world and interacting with some amazing individuals.
