Council general manager John Scarce said as the new chief financial officer, Ms Salzke’s expertise in financial management is welcomed.
Ms Salzke’s experience includes eight years in a public accounting practice.
She is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
“Ms Salzke’s appointment is the final cog in the leadership team, that will play an instrumental role in shaping our council as we position ourselves as a proactive and sustainable organisation for the future,” Mr Scarce said.
Ms Salzke, born and bred in the Riverina and now living in Jerilderie, said she has been impressed with the whole council area.
“My family moved here less than a month ago, but the strong sense of community is already clearly evident,” she said.
“We’ve been warmly welcomed, and we’re looking forward to familiarising ourselves with the local area and its residents.
“I’m pleased to make this transition into the local government sector, and I’m excited to get stuck into the responsibilities associated with the position.
“It’s an exciting time for the local government area, and I expect to work closely with the leadership team and council through the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead,” she said.
