The lead up to Christmas 2024 in Jerilderie is a marathon of Christmas parties for many businesses, organisations and social groups.
Some gatherings have already been held and many are yet to come.

Twenty-five parishioners of St Joseph’s Catholic Church gathered at the Sports Club Chinese Restaurant after the 5pm Mass last Saturday.
They were there to enjoy a banquet dinner to celebrate the coming festive season, and to farewell Fr Cyprian Onuorah who will be leaving Jerilderie mid-January 2025 to serve the parish of Berrigan, Barooga and Mulwala.

The Jerilderie Sports Club is hosting a Family Christmas at the club on Friday, December 20, starting at 5.30pm.
There will be raffles, activities for the kids, and of course, the inevitable visit from the man in the red suit.

The Jerilderie Hospital Auxiliary held its last meeting for the year on Thursday at the home of president Joy Knight, with a delicious Christmas lunch shared after the meeting.
The first meeting of the auxiliary for 2025 will be on Tuesday, February 27.

Jerilderie Public School’s Year 6 farewell dinner will be tomorrow, Thursday, December 5, and the school’s presentation night will take place next Wednesday, December 11. Both events start at 6.30pm.
The P& C is organising a Christmas hamper to be raffled at the presentation night, and would be glad to receive donations of nice Christmassy goodies to be included.
Items can be left at the school’s front office.

Input to the Murrumbidgee Council survey concerning the proposal to reduce the speed limit on the Newell Highway (Jerilderie St), through the shopping/commercial centre of Jerilderie, closes next Friday, December 13.
It is proposed that a 40 km/h limit be put in place from Bolton St to Kennedy St.

The Jerilderie swimming pool opening times are Mondays - closed; other weekdays - 6am to 10am, and 1pm to 7pm; weekends - 9am to 7pm.
Entry is once again free.
