With the temperature really warming up, all community members are to be reminded about the risk of grass fires.
They are:
• unpredictable, can start easily and spread quickly.
• can move three times faster than a bushfire; leaving you little time to get ready.
• can also destroy homes, crops and livelihoods.
Even if you do not live near grassland, you may still be at risk of bushfire.
Even if your home is a few streets back, or you are surrounded by irrigation channels, you may be at risk.
Check out the link: https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/plan-and-prepare/farm-fire-safety/grassfires and call 000 in any emergency
