Jerilderie Red Cross members are holding a raffle plus a ‘Big Cake Bake’ this Friday, starting at 9am, outside Vinnies.
First prize is one night’s accommodation for two plus $200 for meals at the Whitton Malthouse, and second prize is a Christmas hamper.
The event is supporting 2024 Portsea Camp.

There will be a meeting of the Jerilderie Anglican Centenary Committee tomorrow, at the Anglican Church Hall at 2pm.
A review of the recent Centenary Anniversary church service, and plans for the future, will be discussed.
New members are always welcome.

St Joseph’s Catholic Church community are reminded that Bishop of Wagga Wagga Diocese, Mark Edwards, will be in Jerilderie this Sunday for the consecration of the new church altar.
The celebration will take place at the 10.30am Mass, which will be followed by a barbecue to give people an opportunity to socialise and speak with Bishop Mark.
Parishioners and members of the school community are invited to attend.

Jerilderie’s own Ben Stonnill will be performing among a star studded cast this Sunday at a concert in the Berrigan Memorial Hall, starting at 2pm.
Singers from Berrigan and Finley, as well as an opera singer from Sydney, will be among the entertainers.
The concert will go for about two hours with an intermission, and there will be a bar, and afternoon tea available.
Tickets are $25 and may be booked online or at the Berrigan Book Shop.

Local organisations have been invited to attend Murrumbidgee Council’s free barbecue at Luke Park on Wednesday, November 22, from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, to welcome newcomers to Jerilderie.
Organisations have been invited to promote their organisation and showcase why we love the area in which we work and live.
Interested organisations are asked to register their intention to attend by next Friday October 27.

The annual Jerilderie Flower Show will be at the Civic Hall next Friday, October 27.
Entries for the many sections of floral art, craft and cookery will be received from 8.30am up until 11am, for final judging at 11.30am.
The official opening will be at 2pm.
Go along and enjoy a delicious lunch with friends, or afternoon tea, or both.

Friday night’s showing of ‘The Mother’s Club’ - a fundraiser for Finley High School P & C - has unfortunately been cancelled due to lack of bookings.
A raffle will still be held at a date yet to be decided.

Murrumbidgee Council is inviting applications for the Sir John Monash Education Bursary 2023, value $2000.
Applicants are asked to submit an essay of at least 1000 words, based on a quote from Sir John Monash: “Depend upon it, the only hope for Australia is the ballot box and an educated electorate”.
The question being asked is: ‘Do you believe that some 90 years later an ‘educated electorate’ has been the cause for several upheavals being experienced, not only in Australian politics, but politics world-wide?’.
Entries close on Friday, November 3, at 4pm.
They can be submitted to the general manager, Murrumbidgee Council, PO Box 96, Jerilderie, 2716, delivered to council offices in either Jerilderie, Coleambally or Darlington Point, or emailed to mail@murrumbidgee.nsw.gov.au.
