Finley High School principal Jeff Ward, teachers, students and especially the parents of Sarah Bauer are extremely proud of her presentation in the Plain English Public Speaking State Competition.

Sarah has qualified to proceed to the next level in this competition, and will now travel to Sydney to take part in the semi-final this Friday.
The three adjudicators were highly impressed with Sarah's prepared speech, which is a salute to farmers and called ‘The man behind the latte.’
It was so impressive they could not make any suggestions for improvement, which is most unusual, and quite an achievement on Sarah's part
The impromptu topic was 'It's jaw-dropping'.
Sarah had three minutes to create a three-minute speech - which would be a real challenge for anyone.
Well done, Sarah and best wishes from your school and local communities.

The Finley School of Arts once again rocked with laughter due to two more performances of the FADAMS rendition of ‘And So Say All Of Us’ on Friday and Saturday evening.
It’s incredible how much time and effort goes into organising a 25th wedding anniversary party.
The cast and those behind the scenes - who often go unnoticed - are to be congratulated on the outcome of many months of preparation.
The bookings have been extremely heavy, however there are still some seats available for the final weekend on June 17 and 18.
So if you would like to experience a few hours of fun and frivolity, it would be advisable to call in and see Sally at Con Carr Betta Home Living and purchase a ticket ASAP.

The hall is situated on the road to Deniliquin and there are plenty of activities planned to keep everyone entertained.
There will be a 'through the decades' display and, on Saturday afternoon, old-fashioned family games with prizes for those who participate from noon to 5pm.
Saturday evening from 8pm, an old-time dance with Ian Stewart’s music will conclude the day. Supper will be provided and the drawing of the raffle - a crochet rug - will also take place.
On Sunday, the Finley Community Church will provide a service at 10am followed by lunch and open hall until 3pm.
A barbecue and soup is available both days.
There will also be a memories board in place for people to write in a fond memory of their time at Retreat, and the organising committee encourages anyone who has photos of their connection to the hall to bring them along for the day.
Camping will be available onsite for anyone travelling.

Finley Lions Club members braved the cold to sell tickets for the wood raffle on Saturday morning, and Peter Horne was delighted with his win.
Rumour has it there are some great stories to be told if you have time to stop and chat to these members, who do so much for the local community.
