The event marked 40 years since the National Showjumping Championship and World Cup Qualifier was held at the Berrigan Show in 1983.
At the time, this event was the biggest day of showjumping in Australia.
It had a total prize pool of $7,700 - seemingly small in today’s money, but then a massive prize.
At this year’s Berrigan Show, showjumping was still a winner with 117 entries throughout the day.
The program continued non-stop until 6.30pm.
Two special awards were presented as part of the celebrations, with Rylee Hooper awarded the Gordon Pyle Memorial Sash Junior Showjumping Rider and the MR Pyle Memorial Sash going to Russell Hearn.
The horse events were just one part of a big day of action under sunny Berrigan skies.
The Berrigan Show attracted strong entries from the pavilion to fleece and poultry.
Once again, the team yarding was widespread, with events held across Saturday and Sunday.
The beautiful, warm, sunny weather made for a great day out for the whole family, with lots of free entertainment and activities for the kids.
Berrigan Shire Councillor Renee Paine, who also serves as vice president of the Berrigan Show, opened the show.
Show president Neville Dalgliesh thanked volunteers and sponsors.
He specifically thanked Berrigan Lions Club, Neil and Linda Cameron, Bruce Atkinson and David Alexander for their contributions, presenting certificates of appreciation for their dedication and support of the Berrigan Show.
Also singled out for their dedication to the local event were Alan and Jude Lawrence, who were made life members of the Berrigan Agricultural and Horticultural Society for their dedication to the Berrigan Show.
Of particular note was the efforts the pair has made in the poultry showing sphere, and in breeding across Australia.
Not all results were available before the Southern Riverina News went to print yesterday.
Junior Show Goers results, however, can be found on page 9.
