Due to the success of the event in 2023 - which Berrigan Shire Mayor Julia Cornwell McKean estimates brought about $3 million into the district community - the grant pool was increased to $40,000.
This is the final week that Berrigan Shire community groups, causes and charities can apply for a grant and take advantage of this unique funding opportunity.
Grants are awarded depending on the number of Berrigan Shire residents who will benefit from the initiative, the level of community support and the overall quality of the application.
The grant program has been running since 2015 and is designed to give back to groups who may not normally be eligible for, or able to secure funding.
Festival Director Tara Benney said funds from the grant pool are sourced from a portion of every Strawberry Fields ticket sold, and past recipients have included Berrigan Football Club, Can Assist Finley and The Moira Foodshare program.
“Our Local Community Grants Program plays an integral part in showcasing that community is at the heart of our festival, and something we place great importance on,” she said.
“We always endeavour to give back to the local area and provide opportunities within the region that extend beyond the weekend our event takes place.”
Applications close at midnight on April 4, with successful applicants notified by May 4.

In addition to the local grants program, Strawberry Fields has contributed $110,000 to charity for the education of disadvantaged children and Indigenous youth since 2021 just by partnering with Humanitix.
The event will partner with Humanitix this year.
