That has been the focus for students of Sacred Heart Tocumwal in recent weeks.
And in thinking about about how they could show their gratitude for such acts, principal Pat Boake said the students came up with a great idea.
That light bulb moment was to go out in the community and to show that appreciation.
The students visited various health services and organisations within the community last week to thank the staff for their efforts.
The students created handmade thank you cards, with the design relating to the work they are thankful for.
Staff were also presented with a delicious box of chocolates.
“The students visited Tocumwal Pharmacy, where they said thank you to the staff for looking after the health of so many people in our community,” Mr Boake said.
“At Tocumwal Hospital and the doctor’s surgery students presented a card and chocolates, and thanked the staff for their service to the community.
“Staff of Tocumwal Lions Community Hostel were thanked for everything they do for the elderly of Tocumwal.”
