Shepparton Festival is a cornerstone of arts and culture in regional Victoria, while GOTAFE is a leading vocational education provider in the region.
Through this partnership, the two peas in a powerhouse pod aim to foster community engagement, creativity, and educational opportunities within the region.
Diploma of Graphic Design (CUA50720) graduate Casey Bromley is a testament to GOTAFE’s already-established hub for creativity and skill building.
“With the support of my trainers, I built on my basic skills and then was able to start adding my own design style to my portfolio work,” she said.
“I graduated feeling confident and ready to start working straight away in a job I really enjoy.”
The collaboration presents new opportunities for GOTAFE’s creatives, opening doors before graduation.
While students are in the thick of it, Shepparton Festival has been chiming in to provide outside-the-classroom experiences.
Earlier this month, the community orbited around GOTAFE’s mobile campus for a pop-up art exhibition as part of the festival.
The exhibition showcased the works of students studying art and design courses.
“(We are) providing valuable opportunities for artists, students, and the wider community to connect, learn, and grow,” festival director Kristen Retallick said.
Laura Baker, executive director of student experience at GOTAFE, added to Ms Retallick’s sentiment, stating the partnership enriched the cultural landscape of Shepparton and beyond.
