Most local schools are located in the NSW eastern division.
Term one officially starts on Tuesday, January 30, but the NSW Department of Education has designated the first two days of term as staff development days.
This will allow teachers to prepare for the year ahead.
The eastern division also includes Mayrung and Blighty primary schools.
At western division schools, which include those in the Deniliquin district, the term begins on Tuesday, February 6, but students will return to the classroom on Thursday, February 8 after two days of staff development.
Term one will conclude for both divisions on April 12, which is after Easter this year.
For those who attend school across the border, term one in Victoria begins on Monday, January 29.
Victorian teachers will also begin with a single staff development day, with students returning to the classroom from Tuesday, January 30.
Some schools to implement a staged reintroduction of students, so if you are unsure of your child’s start date please check with the school directly.
