Work starts on Strathmerton Primary School upgrade

“The announcement came as a complete surprise and I am excited about the prospect of the changes that can be made to the school in the near future,” Mr Weppner said.

“Our school is certainly showing its age and this upgrade and modernisation will make it a much more exciting and engaging environment for our students to learn and our teachers to teach in.”

Architectural firm Vincent Chrisp and Partners has been engaged and the planning process will start shortly.

Planning will continue throughout the year with the hope to start construction in early 2022.

Working with school leaders, the architecture firm will ensure the improvements will be targeted to where they will be needed most.

The project is funded through the capital works fund as part of the 2020-21 budget.

Strathmerton Primary School was one of three schools in the Shepparton district to share in $5.92 million for school capital upgrades and modernisation works.
