In all my years of farming and experience in Murray Irrigation Limited issues, I have never witnessed a more divisive and biased campaign in a so called democratic election.
MIL are the first to call out any negative letters or articles against them but seem very happy to pull out all stops with all the biased company propaganda when it suits them.
In my opinion, the character assassinations the three democratically elected directors have undergone is a disgraceful abuse of media manipulation.
In my view, the chairman Phil Snowden, deputy chairman Lachlan Marshall and CEO Ron McCalman need to publicly apologise or resign immediately.
Noel Graham and Rob Brown also need to get their facts correct if publishing letters in the paper.
Just to inform the shareholders of MIL that these three gentlemen, Steve Fawns, Brendan Barry and Troy Mauger are asking for your support to vote out two independent directors.
These three landholder directors have your best interests at heart.
The shareholders voted overwhelmingly for change at the last election and wanted Fawns, Barry and Mauger to address the issues in MIL.
This election even voted out a sitting chairman as the shareholders quite rightly weren’t happy with the direction the company was taking.
Since then the CEO has resigned without any information or reasons why and obviously now two independents should’ve resigned as well.
Unlike the independents or the CEO, shareholders pay for the general election and all costs associated with it.
The company has then published biased information on behalf of the chairman, deputy chairman and the two independents at the shareholders’ cost.
They have also now released every shareholders’ private phone numbers to the two independents to send out more biased information.
I would encourage every shareholder to talk to the seven directors and gain your own opinion on what is really happening in MIL and not listen to the noise or the biased misinformation coming out of the very company we all pay for.
I have done my due diligence and have come to the realisation that we need to support Fawns, Barry and Mauger to continue the work that the majority of shareholders voted them in some five short months ago to complete.
Yours etc.
