The Amigos defeated the Pirates 9-2.
Despite the lopsided scoreline, the Pirates battled hard but the Amigos’ finishing abilities proved to be the difference. The Amigos’ highlights included six pegs, three tons, a 125, 140 and two 180s for Torin Helmore, Shantelle Collings nailed five finishes as well as three tons, a 110 and high peg of 80, Mark Robinson scored three tons, a 120, 121, 135 and two 140s and Darren Withoos chipped in with a 135.

The second match of the night took place at the Seymour Tennis Club, with the Kings locking horns with the Broadford Badass in a high-scoring battle.
The Kings dominated the team games to take a 3-0 lead into the singles and looked like banking a percentage-boosting win. Badass flipped the script in the singles, but the damage was done early, with the Kings taking home the choccies — despite Badass winning five of the eight singles — with a 6-5 victory.
Adam Lynch was the standout for the Kings after banging in five pegs, three tons, three 125s, a 140 and a 180, Terran Crispin smashed in four tons, a 135 and a 140, Rob Welsh nailed three tons and a 125 and Anthony Bohlmann slipped in three tons.

The final game of the round for A-grade took place at the Royal Oak Hotel in Kilmore, with the Kilmore Cobras facing off against the Golf Club Aces in another epic match.
The Aces went into the match short one player, but were lucky enough to pick up a player from the front bar of the Oak. Despite going in undermanned the Aces were determined to give the reigning B-grade champs a run for their money and they delivered in spades, with nearly all the singles going to a third leg decider and the result going down to the wire in the final game of the night.
But it was the Cobras who emerged from the final battle victorious, banking their first A-grade win, 6-5.
The Kilmore Cobras’ Rohan Clancy was in full beast mode on the oche, throwing a whopping nine straight tons. Rob Davon smacked in five finishes, five tons and two 140s and Crystal Bird snagged a high score of 112.
Stand-in captain Mark Jones fought hard for the Aces, throwing three tons, a 122, 140 and 160, Dave Ring smashed in three tons, a 120, 140 and a high peg of 92, Alan Sharp sneaked in a high score of 117 and Gerard ‘Phil Inn’ Brady nailed a high score of 121 and a round-high peg of 107.
The first B-grade game of the night took place at the Royal Hotel in Seymour, with the Jacarandas going toe to toe with the Kilmore Convicts.
With the home side going in a player short they were always going to be up against it.
They battled hard all night and with the scores sitting 5-4 in the Cobras’ favour, the Jacarandas were still in with a slim chance of pulling off the impossible, but back-to-back wins for the Kimore team quashed those chances and gave the visitors a 7-4 win.
Shelley Jensen was the only high scorer for the Jacarandas; she nailed a 121.
The Convicts’ Eoin Flynn was a standout for the visitors, smacking in three tons and a 125; Peter Browne was next best with two tons and a 121.
The 26ers hosted their first-ever match in The Dave Cave in Beveridge, with the Royal Rascals making the trip down the Hume to help christen the SDDA’s newest venue.
The Rascals drew first blood in the quads game, but the 26ers were quick to hit back and with the scores sitting at 3-3, this was shaping up to be another close match.
But the 26ers found another gear, winning the next five games straight to take the win 8-3, leaving the Rascals ruing a missed opportunity.
The 26ers’ captain, Dave McGrath, was a powerhouse in his own house, whacking in five pegs, a ton, a 135 and a high score of 174. Sharon Ring was next best with a ton and two 140s, Brian Ward speared in a ton and a 101 and Matt Burrows snagged a high score of 116.
For the Rascals, Noel Whittling was the top contributor with high scores of 112, 115, 121 and 140. He also smashed in a high peg of 100. Brendan Rogers fired in a 107 and a 120, Stuey Crockett sneaked in a pair of tons and Aaron Peacock chucked a single ton.
The final game for the round took place at the Pyalong Rec Reserve, with the Tiger-neers sinking their teeth into the Marauders in an 11-0 mauling.
