The Blasters hit the road on Saturday night for the first of their round three games, travelling to RB Robson Wallan Indoor Sports Stadium to take on the Panthers, in what was the Wallan side’s opening hit-out of the 2024-25 campaign.
A slow start from the visitors saw them trailing by two points at the first break, down 14-16, however they hit their stride in the second quarter, piling on 24 points to just 15 from the Panthers to enter the half-time huddle leading comfortably, 38 to 31.
William Stewart led the way in the first half for the Blasters with 12 points and continued to find the basket in the second half, draining another 13 points to finish with a team-high 25 as the visitors cruised home to record a 79-68 win.
Zac Donoghue, Jack Murphy and Callum Stojanovic all contributed well also, each finishing with 10 points in the triumph.
The road trip continued for the Blasters on Sunday, with a meeting against the Echuca Pirates set for 12pm at Echuca Basketball Stadium.
Seymour got off to a solid start to hold a slender 20-17 lead by quarter time, however as the side had done the night before, established a much healthier margin in the second term, flying out to a 47-30 lead by the half off the back of a Patrick Green clinic, with the number 20 putting up 19 of his 28 points for the game in the second quarter alone.
It was more of the same from Seymour in the third term as it extended the advantage to 32 points by three-quarter time, which became a 37-point win by the final buzzer, claiming an impressive 98-61 victory.
Green led all scorers with 28 points for the contest, while Stewart (20 points) and Murphy (15 points) continued their impressive form to remain a factor on the stat sheets.
Going two-from-two at the weekend ensures the Blasters maintain a perfect 3-0 record at this point in the season, one of only two teams to remain unbeaten, however they sit third on the ladder with some teams yet to have a bye.
Seymour will be back on court next weekend, lining up against Wodonga Wolves in what promises to be an entertaining encounter between the two form teams of the competition so far.
