It was a hard battle for the young Cats with Archie Mason (25) and Dan Eldridge (10) the only two players to reach double figures.
Promising signs with the bat from Jonty King and Ryan Bauer gave something to take away from the innings.
After 27 overs, the Cats were bowled out for only 67.
With a low target on the board, it was always going to be hard work.
Bailey Coombs bowled, as did Jackson Tooke and Ryan Bauer.
Katty chased the runs down in 13 overs, no wickets down.
B-grade
Finley’s B-grade also took on Katamatite.
Katamatite won the toss and sent the Cats in.
The Cats didn’t start well, losing three early wickets.
A partnership between Matt Clarke (17) and Alistair Wells (26) got the Cats back on track before another clump of wickets.
Another partnership was formed between Russell Anderson (16) and Nick Chesworth (11), however Finley were eventually bowled out for 84.
Finley took to the field in search of early wickets but weren’t fruitful in their efforts.
It wasn’t until a sharp piece of fielding from Evan Lawton resulted in a run out that the Cats got their first wicket.
The introduction of Clarke (two wickets) into the attack saw the Cats take a further two wickets, but in the end, Katamatite were just too good chasing the score three wickets down.
