Ladder leader Stanhope turned up the heat against Division 1 on their way to a comfortable win, 68 shots to 46.
Simon Chisholm’s team was soundly beaten, 11 shots to 29, while Steve O’Brien’s crew fared a little better, but still succumbed 17 shots to 23.
Shane Laing skipped his side to an 18-16 win, but it wasn’t nearly enough to prevent the 22 shot defeat.
Division 2 just failed to overhaul Stanhope when they were defeated, 59 shots to 62.
Rob Morris’ rink was narrowly beaten 20 shots to 22, and Steve King’s side scored a solid 21-15 win.
The final combination of Tyler Hillier, Andrew Holloway, Paul Snare and Craig Hillier (skip) found themselves trailing five shots to 23 after 13 ends.
They fought back valiantly thereafter before going down 18-25, falling just short of preventing the overall three shot defeat.
Division 3 were beaten by Lockington, 57 shots to 68.
Mike Donohue’s side lost 14-21, while Ken ‘Titch’ Salter’s rink was beaten 16 shots to 27.
The only shining light was the team of Robyn Little, Helen Anderson, Maxine Norton and the wily skip Tom Todd who fought back after trailing early to claim a 27-20 victory.
Division 5 continued their good recent form when they accounted for Elmore, 33 shots to 24.
Col Knuckey’s team won by a solitary shot, while Lloyd Ritchie called the shots for Jeff Longstaff, Monique Crothers and Lee Pattinson on their way to a comfortable 18-10 victory.

The two semi-finals of the club’s A-grade singles were played on Sunday, with the final due to be decided next Sunday, December 15.
Steve O’Brien proved to be just too strong for David Hessel, while Rob Morris also scored a comfortable victory against Conway Bovell.
Next week’s final between two in-form players promises to be an excellent contest, and should attract a very appreciative crowd.
