The Saints were out of the gate hot with multiple goals in the first term, but it was only a matter of time until Katandra worked their way in front and took the game on their terms, handing the Saints their sixth loss of the season.
Angus Coldwell was enormous for the Saints as he led from the front in both the midfield and backline.
He has stepped into a captaincy role for the 2024 season and has thrived to date, with his immense knowledge around stoppages.
Chris Patten backed up an impressive performance last week with another superb bout in the Berrigan Saints colours. Patten has found his elite-level form and impacts the game with continued efforts backed up by his strong running.
Xavier Fox and Lochie Schifferle were impressive.
Both players have become ‘Swiss army knives’ for the Saints with the ability to excel in any position.
It was a tough day for the Saints, but the squad will look forward to their next game being back on home soil against Tungamah.

Reserves
Berrigan pulled together a ragtag group to travel and play Katandra.
It certainly wasn’t the Saints’ best side of the year, but there was a terrific sense of pride among the group.
The Saints battled hard all game against top of the table Katandra but were overrun by Katandra’s youthful legs.
Caleb Thornton was massive in both the backline and rotating through the midfield.
Noel Baxter was back to his best, burrowing through packs.
Levi De Bruijn and Alex Park also continued their impressive run of form as both players added another positive game to add to their good form.
Berrigan will be looking to take on Tungamah next week back in Berrigan.

Fourths
The Berrigan fourths added yet another win this week against Katandra, cementing themselves again as the premier team in the competition.
The boys were on fire early as goals rained down on the opposition and continued that way for the whole match.
Jordan Swann led all scorers in the game with a four-goal haul, with Caleb Anderson, Josh Monteath, Tom Baxter and Hudson Ware all following suit with a goal each.
Josh Monteath showed an extreme amount of flair on the wing, and Nick Arnold has once again shown his poise and that he is a legitimate midfield option for the Saints.
Jack Smith found himself in an unfamiliar position when he lined up for more than the occasional ruck contest.
He battled extremely hard in this position and ensured the Saints midfielders got a steady flow of footy to their advantage.
