Competing at the EKKA Royal Queensland Show, Jesse impressed at the Australian Whipcrackers and Plaiters Association event, sponsored by RM Williams.
Jesse and his family are well known locally and across the country as the Conargo Whip Crackers.
Every member of the family - dad Brett, mum Christie and their children Brooke, Jesse and Beau - are competitive whipcrackers, and they also attend many events to provide demonstrations.
Mum Christie said they are all very proud of Jesse’s latest results.
“This particular event is quite big,” she said.
“The young man Jesse beat out for first has won a fair few of their previous match-ups”.
It’s a particularly vindicating win in the sense that the competition at the EKKA was Jesse’s last chance in the junior age group.
By the time the event rolls around next year, he will be eligible to compete in the open age competition.
Next on the competition circuit for Jesse will be here at home, at the Deniliquin Ute Muster.
The AWPA will host a series of heats and finals across several age groups over the two days - October 4 and 5.
