On the away pitch, the Saints were in early trouble, with Matt Ross trapped LBW off the first ball of the innings from a big in swinger from Ash Quinn (1/2).
When fellow opener Matt Whelan (5) fell, caught in the slips, the Saints were shaky at 2/13.
Jacob Bartlett and Luke Melville showed some composure against the strong Nathalia attack.
The pair started to build momentum in the Saints’ innings, taking the score to 31 before Melville was caught in the deep off the spin bowling of Scott Morris (3/19) for 12.
From there on for the Saints, wickets fell in clumps.
The Nathalia bowling pressure increased, with the Saints bowled out for 62 in the 33rd over.
Jacob Bartlett finished 17 not out and Andrew Parr 10, being the only other players to reach double figures on the score sheet.
Scotty Morris and Archie Congues (2/17) did the bulk of the damage.
With a small target to defend, the Saints needed quick wickets.
Matt Ross steamed in from one end and had the pressure on the Nathalia batsman, claiming the first two wickets, Ewan Congues for a golden duck and Brady Walpole for a second ball duck to have Nathalia in early trouble at 2/5.
However, Jason Mckenna and Archie Congues were able to weather the Saints attack to guide them past the target to finish 2/64 in the 12th over.
Lachlan Packer picked up the Berrigan Hay Schifferle Farming Award and Jordan Swann claimed the Albury Sportspower Award for their efforts in the field.
This week the Saints travel to Deniliquin for a one-day match.
Under-15s
Berrigan’s under-15s first day was washed out.
They will take on Barooga next Saturday in a one-day match.
Under-13s
In the under-13s, Berrigan travelled to Katamatite.
The Saints won the toss, electing to bat.
Building partnerships early in the innings, they then added pressure at the back end of the innings with quick singles to post the score of 1/72 after their 20 overs.
Harvey Swann top scored with 19 retired, and Will Batten 14 retired.
In reply, Katamatite were restricted to 4/60 with Swann, Jack Phillips, Kobe Smith and Rylan Gorman each picking up a wicket.
Batten bowled with constant pressure to finish his four overs 0/4.
The Saints won by 12 runs.
Kobe Smith picked up the Federal Hotel Parmi Award, Will Batten the Albury Sportspower Award and Joe Healy claimed the Loats Family Award.
This week the under-13s host Cobram on Friday night.
Under-11s
In the under-11s, Berrigan travelled to Finley.
Finley won the toss, electing to bat and posting a score of 111.
Harvey Swann claimed two wickets and Joe Healy, Jack Healy and Ned Gorman each picked up one wicket.
In reply, the Saints were restricted to 82 with Harvey top scoring with 27.
Healy claimed the Federal Hotel Parmi Award, Gorman took home the Albury Sportspower Award and Savannah Melville claimed the Viv and Marg McGee Award.
This week, the under-11s travel to Cobram on Wednesday Night.
