With all the association’s round 10 matches — bar one — cancelled due to heat, round 11 was most teams’ first time back on court for the year.
In division one action, Shepparton Lawn Tropics edged out Shepparton Lawn Average Joes in a thriller.
Taking out the contest 6-69 to 6-68, the local derby could have gone either way, with strong singles performances from Nathan Mitchell, Leanne More and Anna Reynolds helping the Tropics get over the line.
It was equally as close at Numurkah as the home side picked up an 7-78 to 5-70 win over Velvet Tigers.
Keeping the side in the hunt for top spot on the ladder, the Warriors bounced back from a round 10 loss to the ladder-leading Kyabram-Echuca to secure the win.
The team to beat this season, Kyabram-Echuca was simply too strong for Shepparton Lawn The Valley on Saturday, with a 12-96 to 0-38 result.
In the pick of division two action, Numurkah Raiders secured a tight away victory over Kialla Park-Old Students.
Taking out the contest by eight games, the Raiders were led by a dominant 6-0 Jai Harrington win, while an 8-1 Oscar Crilly and Andrew Storer doubles result helped lock in the victory.
News photographer Megan Fisher went to Kialla Park Recreation Reserve on Saturday to capture the action.
