Finley Little Athletics Club had eight athletes that were successful in qualifying for the state carnival on March 18 and 19, held at Sydney Olympic Park.

These competitors ranged in ages from under-9s to 17s, competing against the best athletes from eight other regional areas across NSW.
Levi Jakeman placed second in the high jump, a feat not achieved for anyone from the Finley area in quite some time.
Olivia Thompson qualified for the 300m hurdles but was unable to attend due to other sporting commitments.
The carnival results were:
Under-15s: Ben Rourke - 20th high jump, 20th 100m hurdles, 18th 300m hurdles, 20th 1500m.
Under-14s: Teyha Kelly - 13th discus.
Under-12s: Jordan Swann - 16th hurdles, 18th discus; Lydia Horung - 9th high jump, 22nd shot put, 23rd discus;
Under-11s: Ruth Horung - 20th long jump.
Under-10s: Levi Jakeman - 2nd high jump, 7th long jump; Flynn Rourke - 13th high Jump, 21st 800m.
