Due to the Deni North School pitch not meeting standards, Deni South kindly allowed Deni North School to use their field.
Team captain Hugo McGrillen won the toss and chose to bowl.
Finley batted for 25 overs, finishing at 6/78.
Connor Sampson bowled exceptionally, taking the first wicket of one of Finley’s openers.
Isaac Tubb secured the second and third wickets.
Hugo also contributed with a decisive LBW and a catch off his bowling by Connor.
With the bat, Ned Wettenhall was the top scorer for Deni North, with 26 runs.
He was supported by Isaac with 11 runs, and Oliver Bull with 10 runs.
Deni North School faced some tension after losing some quick wickets in the 17th over, with the score tied at 78.
A single from Connor got Deni North School over the line.
Batting out the over, Isaac scored another run before getting run out while attempting a return.
Deni North School are now awaiting the result of the Tocumwal Public School versus Corowa Public School match to see who they will face in the quarter finals early next term.
During the holidays, the players will be working on their skills - particularly bowling, after Finley scored 40 runs from wides and no balls.
