The Rhinos had two inclusions with the return of Jack Tonta and Noah Bradley.
The club celebrated a milestone match with Harry Hillier playing his 100th senior game for the club.
Hillier has been a great club man having coached the juniors and is a current vice-captain.
The wicket looked great and promised plenty of good cricket.
Berrigan won the toss and elected to bat.
Matt Ross was aggressive early, taking two boundaries through cover.
Matt Taylor had his revenge when Ross tried another big shot but was bowled.
Taylor struck again, having Lachlan Whelan caught by Boddie Arthur at short mid-wicket.
It was a great piece of bowling by Taylor who bowled around the wicket to the left-handed batter and cramped him up around the hip.
Luke Melville also tried the aggressive approach, racing to 12 at a run-a-ball.
Brodie Bennett’s immaculate line brought about his undoing, skying a ball to Monte Barnes at mid-off.
Berrigan were 3-34 and in early trouble.
Jacob Bartlett was batting well, but he was running out of top-order batting partners.
The introduction of Jack Tonta was devastating for Berrigan.
Rory Bartlett was Tonta’s first wicket.
Jonty Tubb held a brilliant one-handed catch above his head.
Andrew Parr skied a leg-glance into the safe hands of Barnes at fine-leg.
Tonta had two wickets in his return and Berrigan were 5-44.
Tonta bowled Matt Whelan and Jeremy Packer with successive deliveries, reducing Berrigan to 7-53.
Charlie Paton bowled Graeme Parr with the classical left arm-spinners delivery.
Tonta completed the dream comeback when he trapped Jacob Bartlett LBW for 26.
Berrigan were all out for 66 in just 24 overs.
Tonta finished with the incredible figures of 5-6 off six overs.
Taylor bowled with good pace and finished with 2-26 off six overs.
Taylor is the leading wicket taker in the MVCA this season with 17 dismissals.
The Rhinos coach John Arthur was very pleased with the bowling and high standard of fielding.
The game continued immediately with a 10-minute change over.
Arthur and Griegan French opened the batting hoping to continue the success the pair has had this season.
French departed for a rare low score when he skied a top edge to gully while attempting a big shot to the leg-side.
Harry Hillier was elevated up the order looking for some time in the middle as he recovers from a mid-season knee strain.
Hillier started cautiously before unleashing six brutal boundaries to finish unbeaten on 30 off only 18 balls.
Arthur was unbeaten on 25 off 34 balls.
The Rhinos finished the game at 1-69 off 10.5 overs. Incredibly, the game was over before 3pm.
