Finley won the toss and sent Berrigan in on a very batter-friendly wicket.
The Saints top order took full advantage of the situation.
Matt Ross and Connor Thornton got the Saints off to a flyer scoring at a blistering 10 runs an over.
Both openers reached 50, before Thornton was dismissed caught for 50 off 40 balls which included seven fours and two sixes.
Ross continued to bludgeon the Finley attack racing to his 100 and past it before he was caught for 134 off 106 balls.
His innings included 12 fours and eight sixes.
At this stage, the Saints were in complete control at 2/214.
The Saints’ scoring continued with Jacob Bartlett 30, Luke Melville 12, Rory Bartlett 19 and Andrew Parr 39.
The lower order got in on the action with Lachlan Pyle 24 and Nick Manley 13 at the end pushing the score past 300 before being all out.
Berrigan posted 10/345 after 66 overs with Graeme Parr 1 not out.
With 14 overs remaining in the day, a brief lightning storm halted play.
After the storm, the overs had reduced to eight to play with Finley surviving until stumps with the score at 0/19.
Finley's innings resumes this Saturday with Harry Wilkinson on 11 not out and Cougar McGrath on five not out.
