Carolyne Rutledge from Coleambally has been crowned the 2024 Women’s NSW Medal State Final Winner.

There were 6400 women across NSW that took part in the 2024 Women’s Medal Competition, the final 54 women battled it out on the picturesque Greg Norman designed layout.
Rutledge took out the Division 2 (Silver) and overall honors with an impressive net score of 71.
She was the only player to break her handicap on the day.
“Thank you to Golf New South Wales for putting on such a great event and to Stonecutters Ridge for hosting today,” she said.
“I really enjoyed the day and the course was beautiful.”
Vicki Reeves from Guyra was runner up in Division 2 with a net score of 73 followed by Stephanie Shaw from Tura Beach who finished in third with her score of 75 net.
Division 1 (Gold) was taken out by Gosford’s Soo-Young Hams, prevailing in a closely contested countback with two other on a net score of 72.
Soo-Young was excited and delighted with her win and couldn’t believe the result.
Lesley Jeffriess from Manila GC finished runner up and Linda Lin from Monash CC was third with the same score of 72 net.
Coonabarabran’s Lorraine Dowsett took out the Division 3 (Bronze) Medal with a great score of 72 net.
Dowsett was flabbergasted when her name was announced as the winner and thought it was a mistake when called up to collect her winners medal.
“Are you sure I won. I can’t believe it.” laughed Dowsett.
Hilary Drew from Bermaugi CC finished in second place on a countback with a score of 75 net and Canowindra’s Collette Armstrong finished in third place.
The 2024 NSW Women’s Medal is held over three stages in three divisions.
In the first stage, held from January to September, winners at club level are determined by the lowest net aggregate of three scores at the end of six rounds.
Club winners progress to District and Metropolitan playoffs, with the best scores in each division at each venue (top three women – metropolitan) move onto the Women’s State Final.
