A-grade were down nearly a whole side this week, so a huge thanks to our B-graders and junior girls who stepped up to allow us to take the court.
The girls took this opportunity to play out of position and enjoy a game on such a miserable day.
Miley Driscoll played the position of GS in the last quarter and shot five goals.
For a centre player who’s never played goals, this was a netball highlight for her.
Grace Veenstra relived her junior netball days, played WD and was on absolute fire.
Awards: BNC Players’ Player Yeti – Jodi Hawes; Agtrade $50 – Jodi Hawes; Finley RSC– Kayleigh Nolen; Sportspower Albury – Miley Driscoll.
B-grade: Berrigan 15 def by Katamatite 54.
B-grade started strong but fell short by the end of the game.
Despite the harsh conditions, everyone left with a smile on their face, lots of laughs, and some good plays to be proud of.
B-grade is a great team out there, doing their best and enjoying their time together.
Congratulations to those who then stepped up to play a tough A-grade game. Your efforts and commitment didn’t go unnoticed.

C-grade: Berrigan 30 def by Katamatite 44.
C-grade was excited to welcome Bec Ware back to the courts for an absolutely blustery day in Berrigan.
The attacking end was nearly as strong as the wind, with ladies flying on the wind for some quick saves as the ball flew out of the court.
Leteisha Hague and Vanessa Parr held strong through the midcourt, battling to catch every loose ball.
Meg Brooks and Molly Rice were jumping queens in defence, which resulted in some fantastic turnovers.
Credit to all ladies for braving the gale conditions out there and not getting blown away!
Awards: BNC Players’ Player Yeti – Bec Ware; Marshall Ag $50 – Bec Ware; 2712 Voucher – Amelia Packer; Sportspower Albury– Molly Rice.
C-Reserve: Berrigan 14 def by Katamatite 22.
We welcomed Chloe Hudson back after being out with injury and watched her literally fly on the breeze down the court.
Annie Cameron and Tamara Holley had their work cut out for them with the pure force of the wind, but continued to work hard in the ring to sneak through some great goals and holds.
Judy Cakebread and Leteisha Hague moved brilliantly through the midcourt and Nell Rennick and Gracie Rice provided an excellent defence, providing extreme pressure.
It was a well-fought game in less-than-ideal conditions. Great work!
Awards: BNC Players’ Player Yeti – Annie Cameron; Federal Hotel Voucher – Chloe Hudson; BNC $50 – Tamara Holley; Sportspower Albury– Nell Rennick.
Under-17s: Berrigan 52 def Katamatite 7.
On Saturday we took on Katamatite, but the wild, wintry weather conditions didn’t stop the girls from doing what they do best.
Annabelle Brooks played out of her skin, showing great discipline with her defensive pressure.
Miley Driscoll stepped up in defence and owned the ring like a boss, and Mia Cameron, as always, reads the play so well she knows where the girls are before they do.
Awards: BNC $20 – Annabelle Brooks; Bizzy Scissors $10 – Miley Driscoll; Sportspower Albury – Mia Cameron.
Under-15s: Berrigan 19 def Katamatite 1.
With a few girls out this week, we had four very talented girls from the u13s come up and play with us against Katamatite.
It was the perfect game for the experience. Bella Ward was on fire this week with her interceptions.
Maddie Rice showed her hidden skills in shooter and Tehya Kelly’s defensive pressure was on point.

Despite the cold and windy weather, the team played exceptionally well.
Four of our girls played in the under-15s game before playing their own.
They came away with two wins for the day and didn’t let the opposition score in their under-13s game.
Sophie Baxter made some great passes and played smoothly down the court.
Darcie Smith used her footwork and defensive skills from training and got many important touches.
Larni Gorman was quick as always, provided great support, executed for centre passes well, and helped get the ball into the ring.
Awards: Swann Family $10 – Larni Gorman; Sportspower Albury – Sophie Baxter; Border Backhoe Services $5 – Darcie Smith.
Under-11s: Not scored.
Our little Saints braved the freezing, windy conditions for a fun game against Katty.
The girls worked hard to keep in front of their players and defended well.
Our girls linked up well, and that resulted in a great goal for Lacey Morgan.
Keep up the good work, girls. Your improvement each week is amazing.
