The Saints won the toss and elected to bowl.
Opening bowlers Matt Whelan and Jacob Bartlett (1-23) struck early to have the Cats 2-21.
Cougar McGrath and Archie Mason started to build a partnership, adding 23 runs before Luke Melville (2-23) struck with the back-to-back wickets of Mason (19) and Dillon Hutton (0) to have the Saints on top at 4-45.
Small partnerships followed, including from McGrath who was excellent making a well constructed 30.
Justin Crowley (12) and Noah Iddles (13) also contributed through the middle order to keep things moving, and took the Cats to 7-117.
It was Harrison King coming in at eight which gave the Cats a kick for the end of the innings, top scoring with 32.
That was before Whelan (5-22) came back into the attack and claimed King, Bailey Combs (1) and Jack Hay (0) to claim his fifth wicket.
Finley finished at 10-148 in the 44th over.
Jeremy Packer picked up 2-36 with some tidy middle overs.
In reply Finley’s bowlers went the short-pitched option with some success.
Some uncontrolled pull shots from both Tristan Mears (0) and Rory Bartlett (2) had the Saints at 2-29.
However, the bowling innings didn’t continue as the Cats would have liked. They leaked runs and extras.
Matt Ross and Luke Melville took to the poor Finley bowling with the Saints travelling at more than 10 runs an over.
Ross brought up his 50, however fell shortly later for 52 bowled by Mason (1-29).
Jacob Bartlett joined Melville in the middle, but the introduction of Dillon Hutton (3-20) to the attack saw the Saints, who were cruising at 3-114, to then collapse to 7-117.
As the wickets came the runs steadied, with Hutton managing his three wickets in one over - Melville (28), Andrew Parr (0), Packer (0).
Justin Crowley (1-13) then picked up Jacob Bartlett for 12.
Poor shot selection from the Saints let the Cats right back in the game.
Lachie Pyle and Lachy Whelan steadied for the Saints, taking the score to 140 before Pyle was caught off Combs (2-19) for 11.
Matt Whelan joined his brother in the middle and guided the Saints across the line, taking the score to 8-151 off 33 overs for a two wicket win.
Lachy was on 13 not out and Matt on nine not out.
Matt Whelan claimed the Berrigan Hay and Schifferle Farming Award and the Albury Sportspower Award went to Lachy Whelan.
This weekend, Berrigan will host Cobram, while Finley host Barooga.
