There are 80 players signed up to play in the 10 week competition, which has its grand final on Wednesday, December 18.
The club has welcomed 15 new players to this competition, and overall there was a nice rise in player numbers.
The lawn courts have been presented in near perfect condition, which is unusual coming out of the long winter down season.
The surface was harder than expected, which indicated the dry spell up to the rain last week.
Club president Harley Moore welcomed all players to the club and the new season, and pointed out that as members they are entitled to use the sporting facilities as often as they like and that that includes the lit courts.
John Henderson explained the rules of the twilight competition, which is to get the 26 sets played quickly with deuce being decided by the team winning the next point.
When games are tied at five-all, a five point tie-break is played with the winner being decided by the team getting to five first.
In match play, Peppin Planners came up against Mitre 10.
Peppin Planners, led by John Henderson, recorded a win after a slow start.
Peppin clinched the match in the second round, winning seven of nine sets against Mitre 10, led by Miranda Rose and Michael Pisasale.
Peppin 14 sets, 119 games defeated Mitre 10 9 sets, 93 games.
For Peppin, number one lady Emma Wettenhall and number one man Jon Gatacre both led their team by winning their three sets, with Andrew Ritchie and Chloe Sztejman also winning three sets.
For Mitre 10, old hack Graeme Murphy and new chum Hilary Porter each won their three sets.
The match between Deni Newsagency and Legal Eagles was a more one-sided result.
Newsagency were runaway winners, with 17 sets and 119 games to Eagles’ six sets and 79 games - a games difference of 40.
Newsagency won each of the three rounds, and six of their 13 players were three set winners.
They were Rod Armytage, Anthony Michael, James Gatacre, Jamie Howard, Rob Sobolewski and Bella Gow.
The Tennis Club wants to give junior and senior players notice that it is planning an evening Pickleball Tournament at the DLTC on Friday, November 29.
It will be a great way for a bit of a Christmas bash and social evening for the club.
