Southern Riverina Veterans
The Southern Riverina Veterans Golf Association’s November competition day was played at the Finley Golf Club on Monday, with 70 golfers taking to the course.

Stableford was played, and Mick Schwabe from Finley took the A-grade trophy with 36 points after countback.
Rob Singleton, also from Finley and also on 36, was runner-up.
Neil York from Yarrawonga, after countback on 37, claimed B-grade, with Lynton Goodwin from Cobram Barooga runner-up.
Ian Smithwick from Yarrawonga had 38 points to win C-grade from Phil Latham, also from Yarrawonga, on 37.
NTPs: 3rd John Hyde (Cobram Barooga), 6th Jim Power (Cobram Barooga), 11th Graeme Evans (Cobram Barooga), 18th Phil Latham (Yarrawonga).
Ball competition winners were players who had 29 stableford points or better.
Berrigan
Friday's winner was Alan Arnold (42-9-33), and runner-up was Ed Morgan (46-12.5-33.5).
Putting went to Joe Nicholls 13, and ball winners were Dennis Bush (52-17.5-34.5) and Gail Browne (42-7-35).
Saturday's winner was Brad Vale (44-12.5-31.5), and runner-up was Spike Salter (56-20-36).
Putting was won by Jeff Stein with 11 putts, and ball winners were Gail Browne (43-7-36) and Maria McDonell (55-18-37).
Sunday's winners were Joe Nicholls and Geoff Tait on 71 points, with Alan Arnold and Paul McVicor runners-up with 70.
Next Sunday will be a stroke event with tee off at 12.30pm.
The next Trade Day will be November 23. It is a nine holes, two person ambrose (organise your own partner) with tee off at 2pm.
There’s lots of fun to be had, with food and live local entertainment. All welcome.
Jerilderie
Local youngsters are into the fourth week of the junior golf clinic.
They have been shown and practised a series of drills including putting, chipping and pitching, and this week’s focus will be on full swing golf.
Next Monday, November 18, the juniors will be working toward bringing together all the skills they have been practising.
Our midweek golfers enjoyed medley stableford last Wednesday and the earlier tee time seemed to suit.

Sunday was medley day, with two formats of golf being played - mixed foursomes and men’s stableford.
Mixed foursomes winners Vene Mitchell and Sara Ham 67, r/u Luke and Daz Keating 72.5.
Men’s stableford winner Barry Roe 37, r/u Aaron Purcell 32.

Today will be medley gentsomes or medley stableford, all welcome.
Sunday will be mixed foursomes final round.
A reminder to our ladies of the brief meeting at the Sports Club this Friday at 6pm, followed by presentations and dinner.

Finley
The women played a stroke event on Wednesday which included the November Monthly Medal, with trophies from Walsh Plumbing.
Bobette Wilkinson had a big day out. With a gross score of 80 and a net score of 69, she picked up the daily competition trophy and both the scratch and net medals.
Ball competition winners were Tess Dean on 71 and Hannah Kelly with 75 net.
Lindsay Donkin, with 42 points, claimed the day when the men played stableford on Wednesday.
NTP on the 18th was Mick Schwabe.
Ball competition winners were Grant Shaw 40, and Rob Daniel and Matt Daniel each finished with 35 points.
With 20 stableford points, Colin McNamara came home the winner when stableford was played at the 9 Hole Competition on Thursday.
Ball competition winners were Mick Schwabe and Harry Daniel, who each had 18 stableford points.
Saturday was the L and G Walsh Memorial Day.
By tradition, the 2024 36 Hole Mixed Foursome Championship, sponsored by Finley IGA, was played.
At the end of the day, it was Bobette Wilkinson and Colin McNamara who claimed the championship with a gross score of 169.
In the net competition, played in conjunction with the championship, it was Maree Doyle and John Taylor on 141 net who came out the winners.
They were followed by Sue Simpson and Paul Pinnuck on 142 net.
NTPs: 11th Harry Daniel, 13th Annie Wood, 18th Rob Singleton.
Ball competition winners were Beth White and Grant Shaw on 145, Mary Polkinghorne and Bill O’Connell on 147, and Janet Delmenico and Dave Cordell who also finished with 147.
Being the day after a championship event, there was a smaller field for the Peter Middlebrook Stableford day on Sunday.
Ryan Donkin came in as the men’s division winner with 39 points, with Mary Polkinghorne had 37 to win the wwomen’s division.
NTP on the 18th was Ray Healey.
Ball competition winners were Grant Shaw 35, Marty Piggin 34, and Janet Delmenico who finished with 33 stableford points.
