It was a successful day for the Deniliquin RSL Diggers on Saturday, with both Division 2 and 3 victorious in the second round of Campaspe Weekend Pennant.

Division 2 played Moama, at Moama, with RSL winning on two of three rinks.
RSL were up overall by two shots, 66-64.
Linda Harris (s), Jim Jennings, Peter Wilson and Callan Glenn got home in a tight finish.
Young Callan more than held his own against a very experienced bowler, always regularly drawing bowls into the head.
Moama scored six shots to three over the final six ends, but could not deny the Diggers a great win.

Craig Taylor (s), Mary-Anne Spizer, Garry Hulm and Jenny Tonta were never headed in their contest, and were the best performed combination on the day.
Moama took five shots late in the game but the Diggers finished confidently in a polished team effort.

Tony Tonta (s), Paul Connor, Chris Frampton and Peter Thommers were well placed, only trailing by two shots, 20-22, with four ends to play.
Moama upped the ante however, scoring nine shots to two over the last four ends to record a solid rink win.

Division 2 hosted their over the road rivals, the Deniliquin Bowling Club, on the Duncan St greens.
RSL won overall by six shots - 61-55 - winning on two of the three rinks.
Ron Marchetti (s), James Rhook, Ian Chessells and Ella Hipworth trailed 14-17 on the 14th end.
They then took eight shots over the next four ends to shoot to a 22-17 lead.
Deni Bowling Club then scored a five to tie the game 22-all with only two ends remaining.
The Diggers’ dug deep, scoring singles on each of those ends to grab a close win.
A top team effort, with young Ella bowling beautifully in the leading position.

Neville Austin (s), Archie Webster, Gaye Goodwin and Jacob Glenn featured in another close game.
The scores were locked at 13-all after 16 ends.
The Diggers then took singles on the next two ends to lead 15-13.
However Deni Bowling Club finished the stronger, scoring four shots on the last three ends to claim victory.
DBC 17 def RSL 16.
Tim Dover (s), Brian Clancy, Danny Stanmore, and Darcy Nilsson were locked in a tight game. With five ends to go, they trailed by a single shot, 15-16.
However they finished with aplomb, showing seven shots to nil over the final four ends.
All members contributed in what was a fine team performance
