Southern Riverina Veterans
The Southern Riverina Veterans Golf Association’s January competition day was played at the Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club on Monday, with 90 golfers taking to the course.

Stableford was played and Molly Ryan from Cobram Barooga, with 36 points, took the A-grade trophy. Ron Huy from Tocumwal, on 35 points, was runner-up.
Ray Massey from Yarrawonga Mulwala claimed B-grade on 42 points, while Lyle Herrick from Cobram Barooga had 37 to be runner-up.
Mac Cornell from Tocumwal, on 40 points, took C-grade from Ross Brady of Cobram Barooga on 37 points.
A-grade NTP went to Shane Halloran (Tocumwal), B-grade was claimed by Garry Haberfield (Tocumwal), All Grades went to Rod Jackson (Tocumwal) and none of the C-grade golfers could find the green for their NTP.
Ball competition winners were players who had 29 stableford points or better.
Berrigan
Friday’s winner was Brendan Haintz (42-12.5-29.5) and runner-up was Joe Nicholls (44-8.5-35.5).
Brendan also won the putting with 13 putts, and ball winner was Neil Graham (48-12-36).
Saturday’s winner was Chris Cameron (37-3-34), and runner-up was Marianne Whelan (50-16-34).
Gail Browne won the putting with 12 putts, and ball winner was Paul McVicor (45-10.5-34.5).
Sunday’s stableford best ball competition was won by Matt and Lachy Whelan with 44 points.
Runners-up were Steve Senini and Mitch Moore with 43 points, and ball winner was Alan Arnold and Paul McVicor on 43 points.
Next Sunday will be a stroke event with tee off at 9.30am.
The next Trade Day will be Sunday, January 26.

Finley
On the Wednesday stableford medley competition, Matt Whelan got 38 points and was the winner.
Ball competition winners were Trevor McCaw 36 points, Rob Daniel and Lindsay Donkin 35 points, Michael Schwabe and Rob Singleton 34 points and Mark Robertson 33 points.
NTP on the 18th was Rob Daniel, and Marian Ayres on the 13th.
The Thursday afternoon 9-hole stableford competition resulted in a four-way countback on 18 points, with Michael Schwabe the winner.
Ball competition winners were Colin McNamara and Matt Daniel.
Stableford medley was played on Saturday, and the winner was Marcia Pyle with 38 points.
Ball competition winners were Brad Haines, Harry Daniel and Sue Simpson all with 37 points, Leo McNamara with 36 points and Grant Shaw with 35.
NTP on the 18th went to Grant Shaw.
On Sunday, stroke medley was played, and the winner was Harry Daniel with 83/15/68 nett.
Ball competition winners were Lindsay Donkin 72 nett, Barry Wilson 73 nett and Ian Armer jnr with 75 nett.
NTP on the 18th went to James Braybon.
Jerilderie
Last Wednesday, our field of golfers enjoyed a short reprieve from the summer heat with a milder start to the Wednesday medley stableford comp.
Winner was Dave Hercus with 32 points, and runner-up was Kerrie McLennan on 31.
NTPs: 7th Margo Gregory, 15th (second shot) Suz Graham, 16th Dave Hercus.
Sunday comp was played in warm conditions, with Geoff Portbury making the most of the sunshine and winning the medley stableford with 35 on countback.
Runner-up was Vene Mitchell, also on 35.
Ball comp winner was Daz Keating with 34 points.
NTPs: 5th Dave Hercus, 15th Daz Keating, 16th Greg Collier.
Tocumwal
Tuesday, January 7, was the women’s monthly medal, playing multi tee nett on the president’s course.
Congratulations to Kaye Penman on being the overall winner of the monthly medal with a score of 70.
