Walker, in his final associate year, led from start to finish to claim a seven shot win ahead of Rosanna Golf Club’s Joel Matthews in second place and Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club’s Baxter Droop in third.
Walker began the final round six strokes clear, but gave the chasing pack some encouragement with three early bogeys on Tocumwal’s captains course.
He’d made just one bogey in the 54 holes prior but bounced back quickly from his early miss-steps.
Birdies at 11 and 12 re-established his dominant position at the top of the leaderboard, sealing his win with a birdie from 30 feet to close out a two-under par round of 70 and 14-under total.
Held for the 19th straight year, the $50,000 prize pool tournament attracted 143 associates from around Australia.
In exciting news earlier in the week, it was announced that the tournament will return to Tocumwal Golf and Bowls Club until 2027 after committing to a five-year extension.
The tournament capped a big week at the Tocumwal Golf & Bowls Club, after they began the week with their annual Sponsors Day and Pro Am, which included guest speakers Andrew Daddo and Ben Dixon.
