In the lead up to this SUnday’s event, Mrs Maxwell has been given the honour of being named the 2022 Finley Show Personality.
Due to her long-running association with the event, she was considered to be the perfect candidate to don the medallion this year.
It is 20 years since the award was first created, with Wynne Hawkins named the first Finley Show Personality in 2002.
The main responsibilities of the show personality are to promote the Show Society and the annual show.
Mrs Maxwell was presented with her medallion by 2019 Show Personality Carol Kennedy, who is also show secretary.
Mrs Kennedy said Mrs Maxwell was "very chuffed and honoured“ to have the title bestowed upon her.
The 104th Finley Show will be held this Sunday.
After a two-year COVID-19 enforced break, the committee has worked hard to produce a fantastic event.
All the usual competitions will be back, including beef and dairy cattle, sheep, poultry, horse events, utility dog trials and Junior Showgoer.
Meanwhile, the pavilion will be bursting with photography, handicrafts, art, cooking and flowers. Schoolwork and displays will draw in the crowds, as will guinea pigs and the team from Finley Bakery with cupcake decorating.
Ray Macartney will be in attendance to provide live entertainment, and you can enjoy free camel rides, Skillzone, Dutch Thunder Wildlife, Old Kentucky Animal Farm, sideshow alley, and the Father’s Day Games.
The official opening and grand parade will take place at 2.30pm, following the announcement of the 2022 Wynne Hawkins Memorial ‘Champion of Champions’.
This year’s lucky gate prize is a three-night stay at Wanganella Cottage.
Show tickets are available at the gate on Sunday and are $30 for a family, $15 for adults and $10 for aged pensioners.
Children aged six to 17 get in for $5, and children aged five and younger get in free with an accompanying adult.
